Travelling with your pet

Although we love all pets, it is not possible to transport every animal. These animals can travel with SkyAlps:

• Dogs of max. weight 8 kg (ingluding transport bag);
• Cats of max. weight 8 kg (including transport bag);
• Ferrets;
• Singing birds;
• Rabbits;
• Guinea pigs and hamsters.

Emotional Support Animals (ESAN), even if certified, may only be transported if they meet the requirements listen on this page, in all other cases they are NOT allowed on board SkyAlps flights.

• Pets' maximum weight: 8 kg including transport bag/box.
• Pets' minimum age: 12 weeks.
• As a general rule, international flights require the animal's passport and vaccination certificate, whereas for domestic flights the vaccination certificate is sufficient. In any case, please inform yourself in advance with the competent authorities in the countries of departure and arrival about the documents required.
• The transport box, or travel bag, must be made of fabric, lined with absorbent material, fully closable and must allow the animal to move. Furthermore, the box/bag may not exceed the maximum dimensions of 45x23x25 cm or 45x42x20 cm. For the duration of the flight, the bag or box must remain closed and must be placed under the seat in front of you. Animals cannot be taken out of the bag/box during the flight.
• On a flight can be transported maximum 2 pets and each passenger may only be assignes one animal.
• On SkyAlps flights, pets may only be transported in the cabin. Under no circumstances animals are allowes to travel in the cargo hold.

It is possible to book the service directly online, while booking your ticket,  or through SkyAlps Customer Service. It is also possible to add the service to your booking at a later date, either online or via the SkyAlps Customer Service. Animal transport costs 22,00 Euro per flight.

Pets are NOT allowed on flights to and from the United Kingdom.

Certified assistance dogs can always travel free of charge with SkyAlps by wearing their distinctive harness for the duration of the flight. Reservations for this service can only be made through the SkyAlps Customer Service (reservation(at)skyalps.com - +39 0471 060950).
